ASSESSMENTS

Victoria Stockton SLP is licensed to assess and offer in-home therapy for speech–language and feeding disorders. Before treatment can begin, Victoria offers distinct assessments:

1. Comprehensive Speech & Language Evaluation: assesses a child's language and speech production skills for a complete look at all aspects of communication

• Receptive language skills – a child's comprehension of language
  
• Expressive language skills – a child's expression of his or her thoughts and ideas
  
• Pragmatics / Social language / Play skills
  
• Speech production – a child's articulation of sounds for effective communication
  

2. Speech Assessment: evaluates speech production skills and focuses primarily on articulation and fluency

3. Feeding & Swallowing Assessment: evaluates feeding and swallowing issues based on individualized assessments uniquely customized to each child's needs

After your child's evaluation, you will receive a written summary of your child's results including short and long-term therapy goals. Consultations for Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and classroom accommodations or modifications may also be made upon request. See IEP page for details.
